The Missing Person in the Marriage DebateTuesday, May 19, 2015
I have told my children that one of the most significant issues they will have to deal with, far more than my wife and I today, is the issue of homosexuality and marriage. There are two handrails to hold onto in this issue, as far as I can tell.
1. Jesus loves everybody. Period. He does not have favorites, nor does he show partiality. Regardless of what kind of tendencies a person is born with (and yes, EVERYBODY is born with sinful tendencies, since we are all broken from birth), Jesus loves us just the way we are. Yet he also loves us too much to leave us the way we are.
2. Marriage has always been about Jesus Christ and his bride, from the beginning of the Bible to the very end. Along these lines, author Jon Zens has written a very brief and insightful article yesterday which I highly recommend on this second handrail.
